India's Squad for T20 WC in Bangladesh

Here is my take on what the new-generation T20 squad should look like.

The primary aim is to rest the tired shoulders, test new exciting talent, and maybe, just maybe, give a second chance to past legends.

1. Parthiv Patel (wk) / Naman Ojha (wk)

2. Robin Uthappa / Gautam Gambhir

3. Ajinkya Rahane

4. Ambati Rayudu

5. Yuvraj Singh (c) / Suresh Raina (c)

6. Yusuf Pathan

7. Stuart Binny / Abhishek Nayar / Irfan Pathan

8. Parvez Rasool / Ali Murtaza

9. Mohit Sharma

10. Praveen Kumar / RP Singh

11. Varun Aaron / Pradeep Sangwan

De boo

Watching Peter Forrest score a couple of well timed boundaries in what has been a very mature innings from the debutant thus far,

one gets the feeling that the Australian think tank makes its up-and-coming players debut when they are ready and on the peak of their craft. And looking at Abhinav Mukund's and Ajinkya Rahane's debuts, it seems the Indian counterparts blood youngsters when the seniors are either injured or in a low profile series where no one wants to play and injure themselves.

Boom Boom Afr(a)idi

Shahid Afridi's future planning is as reckless as his batting. He retires at the drop of a hat, speaks venom at the board, and doesnt care two hoots about the consequences. Then he yearns for another innings, and repeats the process. I'm amazed at the number of times he has actually "retired" and then made a comeback. At this rate, he might even beat Saurav Ganguly to it!!
No mean feat, that!

Afridi is like a talk show host whom no one shows interest in. No matter how hard he tries, the audience just doesnt laugh. Then again, when the chief guest of your talk show is PCB chairman Ijaz Butt, things are bound to get awry. He almost gave Ravindra Jadeja a heartache when he claimed to reveal a few "secrets" about a few famous players.

Frankly the PCB has got it all wrong. They should re-instate Inzimam as captain, convince Sharad Pawar to give him a runner for life, and allow one-bounce catches for Kamran Akmal. Poor guy, he almost cried at the possibility of such an event.

statuary warn(e)ing

So Dean Jones (or as we like to call him, professor deano) is in legal (lol) trouble for his remark, while referring to his good mate Shane Warne's latest goof up.. and no I dont mean the one with Liz hurley.. I mean the one with RCA.. "people at RCA should lick his feet for the amount of effort he has put for Rajasthan in the IPL".. well, whats so wrong there.. lick, kiss, go bazooka on his feet, hands, wrists fingures.. really anything you can lay your hands on.. and no, I dont get aroused by fair men, its the sportsman in him that i admire : chirpy, canny, a stalwart, a master of the game, probably the greatest spinner on the face of the earth, a mentor to the young blood, what else do you need?

Besides, in a country where Ajmal kasab, a mass murder is awaiting his legal trial, Deano can have a beer(or forty), go to bahama's and maybe even start reading a book.. the court aint hearing prof!
